Mind-maps come in all shape and sizes.

I have included the use of mind-maps in my learning plan.

I am going to investigate Freemind an open source creation, download it and take it for a spin.

Well the 18 September has come and gone. Cohort 6 have started on their Ultraversity adventure.

I will have to learn some new habits to fit degree work into my schedule.

I have run out of displacement activites so I will pull together my Individual Learning Plan (ILP) this afternoon.
Perhaps I will have a cup of tea and a biscuit firstĀ  …

The Penguin video at Oli’s Big Blog was great.

Now sing along with the Hippo to ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ as the Dancing Dog tries to get in on the act.

How am I going to juggle my online degree?

I am wondering how I am going to juggle my online degree work with my other commitments. As a cohort 6 newbie do you have an idea you would like to share of how you will try to juggle your commitments?

See Jason Garfield juggling five balls in time with The Beatles’ “Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End.

As with so many things on the web this (video link on Google Video) is not the end of the story, or perhaps I should say the beginning. Jason Garfield made his video in response to a video called Amazing Juggling Finale by Chris Bliss. Do a search on Google Video if you are interested to know more. Hint = Chris Bliss only (!) juggles with three balls.

Are children experiencing a toxic childhood?

Toxic Childhood by Sue Palmer

A letter to The Daily Telegraph, by 110 teachers, psychologists, children’s authors and other experts calls on the Government to act to prevent the death of childhood. This piece was picked up by the Today programme on BBC Radio 4 this morning. See the full piece in the The Daily Telegraph

The book cover at the top of this post belongs to Toxic Childhood by Sue Palmer.

The item on the radio caught my ear this morning and it was a great opportunity to pull together some of the research I did on the web to find out more, here on my blog.

What do you think? Has the rise of technology played its part in the loss of childhood?

Get a blog and share it!

What we want you to do is either create a new Blog or if you already have one, please share the address of your blog in a comment so others can learn from yours.

That was the challenge today on the Ultraversity Induction website. I enjoyed surfing the different ‘web log’ hosts using my new favourite web browser Firefox. I am looking forward to populating my blog with new content.

Good luck to all the researchers in Cohort 6.

kind regards
